We moved into a new house and the previous owner left us the refrigerator. I want to know if it’s an energy star. I thought energy stars always have the little logo on it, but when we went to the appliance store, they only had signs to show that they were energy star appliances, no permanent logo. My clothes washer has the energy star logo on it, so why not the refrigerators?

It depends on the manufacturer. Go to the website of the manufacturer. If it says maytag then go to maytag and enter the model number. If should be on some tag near the door or at the back of the inside top shelf. Look up the model and if it’s recent it will pop up and tell you. If not, just send an email to maytag etc and ask.
Your best bet is to search reviews on the specific refrigerator model itself, should only take a few looks to find it’s energy star rating; if it has one at all. Just type in the “review” in Google andor Yahoo!
