Which kind of electric light bulb gives out most heat for the equivalent amount of light – one of the old (UK) bulbs or the newer low-energy bulb? I believe the low-energy type are just miniature fluorescent lamps, so in theory they should be cooler.
But I want to check on this before using these in a lampshade.

My free Yahoo bulb is much cooler.
Old bulbs produce more heat..
The main advantage of low-energy lamps is that they do not release as much heat, and it is the energy of the heat that is thus saved.
So, less energy for a given illumination power means less heat; those fluorescent lamps are thus cooler.
The long life electricity light are coated by mercury to allow to pass the light easily but they do not allow to pass the or we can say they absorb energy pakeges [i.e.energy particals only] thier fore they are cooler then old style bulbs.
They are cooler to save more energy, because ordinary light bulbs waste energy through heat.
The fresh Long-life electric light bulbs are cooler instruments.
